Every year, homeowners lose thousands to preventable repairs, contractor overcharges, and property value decline from poor maintenance records. We were part of that statistic.

We got tired of being frustrated with contractors charging and arm and a leg for unnecessary repairs, anxious about what was going to break next, and regretting leaving money on the table when we sold a home — just because we couldn't prove how well we took care of our home.

Property inspections only did so much. Every time we bought a car, we'd get that cute little report with a forest animal (you know who you are, please don't sue us) showing every piece of work that went into the vehicle. We thought it would only be fair that we have the same level of transparency with our homes.

So we set out to make the easiest way to track work, diagnose problems, and find contractors — all with the goal of handing the next owner of the house an awesome report so they can know that they're stepping into not just a property, but a place they can confidently call home.

And thus was born My Homey.
